Unemployment Appeals & Hearings |
What is an Unemployment Appeals Hearing?
An Unemployment Appeals Hearing is generally a telephone hearing in which an attorney for the Employment Security Commission will act as judge and jury in your case to collect unemployment benefits. Your former employer will also be present at this hearing and may be represented by counsel. If you lose this hearing you may not be granted another.
You have the Right to Hire an Attorney to Represent your Interests!
The McIntyre Law Firm has experience with these types of hearings. We are set up to conduct these hearings in our office or by phone. The law can be quite complicated when determining whether an individual is eligible to draw unemployment benefits. You will have a zealous advocate by your during your hearing at our firm!
What Does the Attorney Do?
There are a number of special rules that govern these quasi-judicial hearings. Once we take over your case we will notify the Employment Security Commission and your employer that we now represent you in the matter. We will assist you in coordinating a strategy, gathering evidence and witnesses for your hearing. We will participate in the questioning and cross examination the employer and all witnesses in the case as well as presenting evidence at the hearing on your behalf. We are committed to getting you the benefits you deserve.
